What the No app yet flag means, why these members cannot see the rewards they have earned, and what to say at the counter.
Some of your members joined straight from a poster. They pointed a phone camera at your QR code, typed their number on the join page, and walked away with a stamp on a card they have never opened. Qtap flags them for you, because the moment they come back for a free coffee, your staff need to know why nothing shows on their phone.
The join page carries your business name and the card they are joining. Full name and birthday are optional; the phone number is the only thing Qtap needs.
The join page a customer lands on after scanning your QR code with a plain phone camera. The pink note is Qtap telling them, before they join, that redeeming needs the app.
That first scan counts. The stamp lands on the card, or the points do, and the screen tells them so. What Qtap does not do is send a code to prove the number belongs to them, so the account is real but unproven. That is what the flag tracks.
On the Members page, these members carry a small No app yet badge under their name.
The Members list. The badge sits under the name of anyone who joined from the web and has not installed the app. Names are covered here for privacy.
Pick one of them on Stamp Operations or Points Operations and an amber note appears above the card. It is there for information only. Issuing stamps and awarding points work exactly as they do for anyone else.
Stamp Operations, with a member who joined from the web selected. Earning is unaffected; the note is a heads-up for later.
A sign-up reward, an interim reward, a finished card, a campaign reward: every one of them is written to the member’s account the same way it would be for an app member. None of them appear on that web page. They sit banked until the app tells the member what is waiting. So you can be looking at a free pastry this member has earned while they have no idea it exists.
The reward is real and you can hand it over today. Open Redemptions and find them under Look Up Customer by name, phone, or Qtap ID, rather than waiting for a code they cannot produce. Their voucher reads Ready, and Confirm Redemption behaves the same as for any other member.
A voucher held by a member with no app. The louder note (1) gives staff the sentence to say out loud; the reward still redeems normally (2).
The scan that enrolled them is the only one they can do for themselves. Scan your poster a second time and the page welcomes them back without adding anything, which stops one member stamping their own card all afternoon. Give them the stamp or the points yourself from Stamp Operations or Points Operations, where they turn up in the member search by phone number or Qtap ID.
Ask them to download the free Qtap app and sign in with the same phone number they gave when they joined. Everything they have earned with you is waiting on that number. A different number starts a second account with nothing in it, which is the one mistake worth heading off at the counter.
The badge and the counter notes clear themselves once the member installs the app and confirms that number. There is nothing for you to switch off.
