A checkbox-by-checkbox map of the Edit Permissions list: which pages and actions each of the 18 permissions opens.
The Edit Permissions dialog holds 18 checkboxes in six groups. This page maps every one of them to the pages and buttons it opens, so you can tick the right boxes the first time.To reach the list, open Staff, click the menu icon on a teammate’s row, choose Edit Permissions, then turn on Use Custom Permissions. Roles and permissions covers that walkthrough in full.
With Use Custom Permissions off (1), the checklist is greyed out and shows the role defaults. This teammate has the Staff role, so View members (2) is ticked and the three edit boxes below it are not.
Full member access: view, add, edit, and delete members
Edit members
Full member access: view, add, edit, and delete members
Delete members
Full member access: view, add, edit, and delete members
Those last three boxes all resolve to the same level of access. Tick any one of them and the teammate can add, edit, and delete members, plus use the bulk actions on the Members list.
The lower half of the list. Create cards (1) covers both program types, any QR box (2) opens the whole QR section, Export data (3) grants full analytics, and Send notifications (4) also opens Campaigns.
Four of these boxes grant more than their label suggests:
The cards boxes cover both program types. There is one Cards and Programs group, and it controls stamp cards and points programs together. You cannot give someone your points programs while keeping them out of your stamp cards.
Any single QR box opens the whole QR section. View, Generate, and Manage all grant the same access. NFC Tags carries an extra rule: a teammate on the Staff role never sees it, whatever you tick.
Send notifications also opens Campaigns. The Notifications group governs both, so a teammate who can send a push can also build and run campaigns.
Export data grants full analytics. Tick it and the teammate gets every report, not only the export buttons.
Staff management, Billing, and Settings are not on the list. Custom permissions start from nothing and add only what you tick, so those three stay closed for everyone except you.
Turning on Use Custom Permissions for a manager takes away their view of the Staff page, because no checkbox can give it back. Leave the switch off if you want a manager to keep their role defaults.
If you clear every box, the teammate can still sign in and reach the dashboard home, and nothing else. The sidebar hides whatever they cannot open, so a restricted teammate sees a shorter menu rather than a list of dead ends.
Your loyalty type still decides what appears. A points account never shows Cards or Stamp Ops even with the cards boxes ticked, and a stamp account never shows Points or Points Ops.
Only owners can edit roles and permissions. Managers cannot change permissions for anyone, including themselves.
